Glasgow Sleep Centre

Sleeping blueThe Glasgow Sleep Centre is based within the Section of Psychological Medicine at the University of Glasgow. It was formed by Professor Colin EspieĀ   to provide an environment for research on sleep and disorders of sleep to flourish. We value intellectual and clinical interaction, and postgraduates and undergraduates contribute as part of our group. Opportunities to work with us arise from time to time.  All the people working in our group share the goal of advancing understanding of human sleep through research. We intend our studies to inform those who provide treatment for people with sleep disorders.  We have been particularly interested in the assessment and treatment of insomnia, the most common sleep problem in adulthood. However, our interests are broad and include experimental as well as clinical studies on insomnia. We are also looking at sleep difficulties associated with health problems like cancer, and studying symptoms such as yawning. We are interested in adherence with treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea and in the sleep problems of children and adults with disabilities.
